Legato is a music studio built around a simple idea: good teaching should gradually make the student less dependent on the teacher.
We help students develop the technique and musicianship to play well, but also the ability to listen, think, practice, and solve problems for themselves.

Our instructors are background checked, and teaching spaces are video monitored as part of Legato’s safety and accountability practices.

At Legato, students can do both.
When you enroll at Legato, your weekly lesson time is reserved for you. You know when your lesson is, what to expect, and where you stand from week to week. We also use calendar notifications so students always know when their next lesson is.
Billing is handled securely and automatically, and our studio policies are clear from the beginning so there are fewer surprises, fewer awkward conversations, and less time spent managing logistics.
After each lesson, students receive notes outlining what was covered, what to practice, and what comes next. Over time, those notes create a clear record of progress and help keep practice focused between lessons.
We take care of the structure around the lesson so students can focus on the part that matters: learning, improving, and making music.
A Space Designed for Learning
Legato’s private teaching studio provides a comfortable, professional environment where students can concentrate, listen closely, and develop with confidence. The space is equipped specifically for music instruction, modern teaching technology, safety-conscious studio practices and in studio video monitoring. Legato is located inside a professional co-working building near Shavano Park. Our private teaching space is part of a shared professional property, so you may see other businesses and professionals in the building during your visit.
We want our lesson policies to be simple and predictable.
No long-term contract
Enrollment is month-to-month. You may discontinue lessons by notifying Legato at least 48 hours before the first of the next month.
Lesson cancellations & makeups
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to miss a lesson. With sufficient notice, the lesson may be made up within 30 days, subject to instructor availability. Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours' notice are forfeited.
Changing lesson length
Students may request a different lesson length in the future, subject to instructor availability.

Our studio gives students a consistent place to learn each week without the uncertainty of changing locations or coordinating in-home lessons.
Once you arrive, the focus is simple: come in, settle down, and make music.

Weekly lesson enrollment gives students the consistency they need to build skills, develop confidence, and make meaningful progress over time. A regular lesson schedule helps each student stay connected to their goals, maintain momentum, and receive steady guidance from their teacher. Once enrolled, secure automatic billing and online scheduling keeps the process simple for students so you can focus on your musical growth.
Studio Class is a once-monthly, group performance class designed to give students regular performance experience in a supportive peer environment.
Participation is by invitation only and currently offered to intermediate and advanced students.
The format is modeled after the traditional master-class environment. Students perform for one another, observe a range of repertoire and technical approaches, and receive brief, focused feedback. The goal is to build comfort performing in front of peers, strengthen musical confidence, and create short-term motivation between lessons. This is not a formal recital, but a working performance environment that supports long-term artistic growth.
